About BPCCI

The Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI), established in 2013, is a bilateral business platform formed in line with Bangladesh Government’s regional cooperation and Look-East strategy.

BPCCI aims to strengthen economic ties between Bangladesh and the Philippines by promoting trade, investment, and business collaboration. The chamber actively supports its members through networking opportunities, market insights, and policy advocacy.

Introduction to the BPCCI

In pursuance of the Bangladesh Government’s Policy for Regional Cooperation and Look-East Strategy, the business communities of Bangladesh and Philippines felt the necessity of creating a platform for promotion of trade and business between the two countries. The Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI) was established in the year 2013 to that end.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to all esteemed members for their continued trust and support. It is both an honor and a profound responsibility to serve as the President of the Bangladesh–Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI) for the term 2026–2027.

As we begin this new chapter, our commitment remains focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and the Philippines, while fostering sustainable economic growth. Through strategic collaboration, shared vision, and active engagement, we aim to unlock new opportunities and elevate the partnership between our two nations to greater heights.

Bangladesh Country Profile

Bangladesh is a South Asian country with a population of about 168 million people. It is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. The capital and largest city is Dhaka. The official language is Bengali and the majority of the population is Muslim. Bangladesh has made significant progress in recent decades, reducing poverty and improving health and education. The country is a lower-middle-income country with a growing economy. The main industries are ready-made garments, textiles, chemical fertilizers, jute and jute goods, tea processing, pharmaceuticals, paper and newsprint, sugar, cement, leather goods, food, fish, and poultry.The literacy rate in Bangladesh is 75.2%, which is a significant increase from the literacy rate of 51.8% in 1981. However, the literacy rate for males is higher than the literacy rate for females. The government is taking steps to address this gender gap. Overall, Bangladesh is a developing country with a bright future. It has made significant progress in recent decades and is on track to achieve its development goals.
